The abalone shifts through greens, blues, purples, and black as it catches light, so it wears as a necklace first and a tool second. Available in matching gold or silver stainless steel, and because both the abalone and the turquoise are natural, every one is a little different.
Both finishes use 316L stainless, the same corrosion-resistant, skin-safe alloy used in medical and body jewelry. The gold option is finished in a 14k gold PVD coating applied at 3 microns, several times thicker than most coated jewelry, so it holds its color through water, sweat, and daily wear rather than sitting on the surface like plating.
