Sascha Brastoff (1917–1993) was a multifaceted American artist whose career spanned performance, costume design, and ceramics. In 1947, he established a ceramics studio in Los Angeles, which became renowned for its mid-century modern designs and employed a team of artists to produce his creations. Among his notable works is the “Alaska Series,” a collection of decorative sculptures and tableware inspired by Alaskan wildlife and indigenous themes.

Crafted in translucent green Lucite resin, this playful pair of polar bear sculptures captures the charm of Brastoff’s stylized animal forms.
