A broad fossil ivory slab from St. Lawrence Island, set with a single turquoise cabochon and studded with silver rivets. It hangs from a heavy silver padlock bail that gives the whole piece a weight and swing. The ivory kept the color it took on underground, browns and ambers that no one designed.
