The grain in this ivory is a record of an animal that lived before the pyramids.
A large oval of fossil ivory, showing the natural dentine grain of ancient walrus, set above a spiderweb-turquoise teardrop. This is the largest and most substantial piece in the collection. The ivory alone would carry it. The turquoise makes it something else.
