In 1947 he opened a Los Angeles studio renowned for its mid-century modern pottery, employing a team of designers to produce richly detailed glazes and sculptural forms. His Alaska Series captures Arctic wildlife and indigenous themes in bold ombré finishes and dynamic brushwork.
