Hand-carved walrus ivory by Aaron Oseuk, a Siberian Yupik artist from Gambell, Alaska. Sitting walrus with inlaid ivory tusks and baleen eyes, polished to a warm cream finish with the natural grain of the tusk visible throughout. Oseuk's walrus carvings are his best-known works — featured in "Eskimo Carvers of the Bering Sea" and collected by the Smithsonian. Signed by the artist. Vintage estate piece.
